We "naturally" think of time through the temporality of objects, through the temporality of space and matter, rather than in itself or on its own terms...We can think of it only in passing moments, through ruptures, nicks, cuts, in instances of dislocation... I live and have a studio surrounded by subtropical rainforest. My first degree was in zoology, then came a masters in medical biophysics. More recently I returned to UNSW to study for a Master of Art Theory writing a thesis: 'seeking the shadows: alternative ways of conceiving quilts and the processes of quiltmaking'(2005). I continue to write essays and reviews. I make quilts as well, I find them a form of meditation. Book making/binding combines my love of language, story and the handmade object. I am married with three sons.
